In California, wildfires are an ever-present threat, with the 2020 and 2021 seasons burning over 6.8 million acres and destroying thousands of structures, costing billions. Meanwhile, the Southeast faces increasingly intense hurricanes, with a record-breaking 2020 Atlantic hurricane season seeing 30 named storms, including 6 major hurricanes.
